Who said you can only read the paper...

...you can also wear the paper.

My students are busy designing newspaper clothing for a fashion show we will be doing in two weeks.
Ok, the pants are not very comfortable but they just look great...
Sometimes I'm still surprised by my students - in a good way!

There is hope...

We hear it everywhere - on the radio, in the news - and you can see it on TV (I only say Dschungelcamp :o(... the standards of German entertainment are getting lower and lower...

...but not in my classroom!!!!

Last week I started a newspaper project with my student - they love it!! They can't wait to read the paper every morning and they even started doing the crosswords - on their own (no force or anything, I promise!!). I'm so proud!!
Yep, they are doing the crosswords...

So there is still hope for the German future...

Flowers for the new year

Happy new year to all of you!!
Traditionally in Germany the 6th of January is the day to take down your christmas decoration - and then, what? Outside the weather has changed to rain, the snow is turning to slush - it's dark and depressing outside. Christmas being over, having had enough of snow already, but the winter being far from over I decided to go for a little bit of early, early spring...
... so I made some flowers for the window.

They are made out of newspaper and then sealed with some white glue. The stems and leafs are made of Japanese Masking Tape ( I finally found some at a small store in Frankfurt).

As you can see, I got the inspiration from these lovely flowers that were delivered to me yesterday - send by my wonderful husband. Isn't he sweet!?
