Wir sind dankbar und glücklich, dass wir hier in Addis uns auch gut auf Englisch verständigen können - sehr viele Äthiopier lernen Englisch und als Weißnase wird man auch auf der Straße gerne mal im Vorbeigehen auf Englisch angesprochen. Auch die Beschilderung vieler Geschäfte und in den Hotels und Restaurants ist oft auf Englisch, so dass man meistens gut verstehen kann, was man da vor sich hat oder was dieses Geschäft anbietet...meistens...

...manchmal aber auch nicht - und daran möchte ich euch in dieser losen Serie teilhaben lassen. Beginnen wir mit dem Frühstück!

We are very thankfull and happy, that communicating in Addis usually can be done in English. A lot of Ethiopian are learning English and as a "ferenji" quite often you are greeted in the streets in English by people just passing by. Also a lot of business signs and signs in hotels and restaurants are written in English, so usually it is easy to understand what you have in front of you or what the shop is offering... usually...

...but sometimes not - and thats what I want to share with you in this series. Let`s start with breakfast!
