Bei den Hamer Kindern /The Hamer children

 Meine Heimatstadt ehrt in diesem Jahr zwei ihrer großen Mitbürger – die Brüder Grimm. Deren Märchen sind weltweit bekannt und beliebt – und meiner Meinung nach ein wichtiger Teil in der Entwicklung von Kindern. Natürlich habe auch ich eine Ausgabe der Grimmschen Hausmärchen in meinem Bücherschrank stehen (allerdings in Deutschland, nicht hier). Was ich aber mit nach Äthiopien genommen habe sind ein paar der süßen, grünen Froschkönige, die Teil einer Fotoaktion sind (https://www.facebook.com/marburger.froschkoenig)

Als wir kürzlich eine Reise in den Süden Äthiopiens unternahmen, um die noch sehr ursprünglich lebenden Volksgruppen dort zu besuchen, war klar: die Frösche müssen mit.

Verwunderung, Zurückhaltung... / Surprise, suspicion...

Für die Kinder waren zuerst wir, aber dann auch die Frösche eine Faszination. Leider war es mit den Fotos schwerer als gedacht, denn um jedes Foto wird zäh verhandelt – und jeder auf dem Foto möchte dafür bezahlt werden. Das macht ungestellte Aufnahmen so gut wie unmöglich – leider. Ein paar sind mir aber dennoch gelungen...

My home town is honoring this year two of their famous citizens – the Brothers Grimm.

Their fairy tales are known and loved throughout the world – and in my opinion they play an important role in the development of young children. Of course I also have their stories on my bookshelf (at home though, not here). Nevertheless what I did bring to Ethiopia are a few of the cute, green frog princes, which are part of an photo project (https://www.facebook.com/marburger.froschkoenig)

So, when we took of to the south of Ethiopia to visit some of the ethnic tribes in the region, one thing was clear: the frogs have to come, too!

Unfortunatly it was very difficult to take pictures, as every shot required a lot of discussion about the amount of money everyone on the picture was to get.
